Corporate Culture

At King Bio, the Healing Revolution is here. Led by an extraordinary group of people with an uncommon passion for helping people discover their potential, we’re literally changing people’s lives every day. The foundation for it all is our extraordinary culture. The 30 Principles that follow describe the behaviors that define this unique culture. They’re what set us apart and what drive our success. These 30 Principles frame the way we do business. We call it The King Bio Way.

The King Bio Way

1. DO THE RIGHT THING, ALWAYS.

Demonstrate a staunch commitment to doing the right thing in every action you take and in every decision you make, even when no one’s looking. Always tell the truth. If you make a mistake, own up to it, apologize, and make it right. Be unwavering with your word.

2. MAKE QUALITY PERSONAL.

Take pride in the quality of everything you touch and everything you do. Always ask yourself, “Is this my best work?” Everything you do has your signature and makes a statement about you. Make sure it’s a statement of excellence.

3. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

The goal is to get things right not simply to get them done. While we always want to work with a sense of urgency, sometimes we need to slow down in order to speed up. Double-check your work.

4. TAKE OWNERSHIP.

Take personal responsibility for making good things happen. Respond to every situation by looking for how we can do it, rather than explaining why it can’t be done. Be resourceful and show initiative. Don’t make excuses or wait for others to solve the problem. See issues through to their completion.

5. PRACTICE BLAMELESS PROBLEM-SOLVING.

Apply your creativity, spirit, and enthusiasm to developing solutions, rather than pointing fingers or dwelling on problems . Identify lessons learned and use those lessons to improve ourselves and our processes so we don’t make the same mistake again. Learn from every experience.

6. ALWAYS THINK BIG.

Aim higher. Challenge yourself to achieve more than you ever thought possible. Only big goals have the power to inspire us. Expect to succeed in a big way, and then do your part to make it happen.

7. LISTEN GENEROUSLY.

Listening is more than simply “not speaking.” Give people your undivided attention. Be present and engaged. Quiet the noise in your head and let go of the need to agree or disagree. Suspend your judgment and be curious to learn more, rather than jumping to conclusions. Listen with care and with empathy. Above all, listen to understand.

8. SPEAK STRAIGHT.

Speak honestly in a way that moves the action fo rward. Make clear and direct requests. Be willing to ask questions, share ideas, or raise issues that may cause conflict when it’s necessary for team success. Address issues directly with those who are involved or affected.

9. HONOR COMMITMENTS.

There’s no better way to earn people’s trust than to be true to your word. Do what you say you’re going to do, when you say you’re going to do it. This includes being on time for all phone calls, appointments, meetings, and promises. If a commitment can’t be fulfilled, notify others early and agree on a new timeframe to be honored.

10. WALK IN YOUR CUSTOMERS’ SHOES.

Understand both your internal and external customers’ world. Know their challenges and frustrations. See the world from their perspective. The better you understand them, the more effectively you can anticipate and meet their needs.

11. “BRING IT” EVERY DAY.

Everyone is needed and everyone’s important. Be here and be fully engaged. Make the most of each day by approaching every task with energy, focus, purpose, and enthusiasm. Be passionate about our mission and the role we all play in literally changing people’s lives for the good.

12. WORK WITH A SENSE OF URGENCY.

Work as quickly as possible, without sacrificing quality. Don’t put off till tomorrow what can be completed today. Get stuff done. (Note how good that feels.)

13. CHECK THE EGO AT THE DOOR.

It’s not about you. Don’t let your ego or personal agenda get in the way of doing what’s best for the team. Worrying about who gets credit or taking things personally is counterproductive. Make sure every decision is based solely on advancing team goals.

14. ALWAYS ASK WHY.

In the search for the best solutions, challenge and question what you don’t understand. Don’t accept anything at “face value” if it doesn’t make sense to you. There’s no better question than “Why?” Never stop asking it.

15. DELIVER RESULTS.

While we appreciate effort, we reward and celebrate results. Set high goals, use measurements to track your progress, and hold yourself accountable for achieving those results.

16. GET CLEAR ON EXPECTATIONS.

Create clarity and avoid misunderstandings by discussing expectations upfront. Establish mutually understood objectives and deadlines for all projects, issues, and commitments. Where appropriate, confirm your communication by asking others to repeat back their understanding to ensure total clarity and the unity of agreement.

17. SHARE INFORMATION.

Communicate. Communicate. Communicate. Learn to ask yourself, “Who else needs to know this?” The more people know, the better we can collaborate, and the better we can serve our customers. Information is one of our greatest assets. Find it, share it, and use it.

18. FOLLOW-UP AND FOLLOW THROUGH.

Record a follow-up date for every action and take responsibility to see that it gets completed. We get paid to complete things, not simply to work on them or to put them in motion.

19. THINK TEAM FIRST.

Be a servant leader who puts the needs of others ahead of yourself to ensure the team performs at the highest level. Support and encourage each other. Be willing to step into other roles and wear multiple hats when that’s what’s required for team success. Every single person and every single department plays a vital role in our collective success. We always win and lose as a team.

20. FIX PROBLEMS AT THE SOURCE.

Address issues by discovering the root cause rather than simply tackling the symptoms. It’s better to invest time in developing a long-term solution, rather than simply putting on a “Band-Aid.”

21. THINK SAFE. WORK SAFE.

Know and practice the safety procedures for your job. Watch out for the safety of your teammates as well, for you are your brother’s keeper. Never take shortcuts that compromise your safety or that of your teammates.

22. BE POSITIVE.

You have the power to choose your attitude. Choose to be joyful, optimistic, and enthusiastic. Give people the benefit of the doubt. Work from the assumption that people are good, fair, and honest, and that the intent behind their actions is positive. Your attitude is contagious. Spread optimism and positive energy. Show love in life and work.

23. BE PROACTIVE.

Solve problems before they happen by anticipating future needs and addressing them in advance. Preventing issues is always more effective than fixing them.

24. GO THE EXTRA MILE.

Be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish the job . . . plus a little bit more. Take the next step to solve the problem. Even if it takes doing something that’s not in your job description, it’s the extra mile that separates the average person from the superstar. Become the superstar you are.

25. INVEST IN RELATIONSHIPS.

Our business is built on trust and trust is built on strong relationships. Make smart decisions that enhance long-term relationships. Strong, healthy relationships enable us to work through difficult issues and challenging times. Nobody cares how much we know until they know how much we care. Show your love and care.

26. CELEBRATE SUCCESS.

Catching people doing things right is more effective than catching them doing things wrong. Regularly extend meaningful acknowledgement and appreciation – in all directions throughout our company.

27. LIVE THE 8 ESSENTIALS.

Create more life, health, happiness, and purpose by making life-affirming choices in each of the 8 domains. Share your passion for our company and its products. Your enthusiasm is contagious and helps to spread our message of abundant life.

28. BE RELENTLESS ABOUT IMPROVEMENT.

Regularly reevaluate everything you do to find ways to improve. Don’t be satisfied with the status quo. “Because we’ve always done it that way” is not a reason. Think differently. Keep gettin g better.

29. EMBRACE CHANGE.

What got us here is not the same as what will get us to the next level. Be inspired by the opportunities that change brings, rather than stubbornly hanging onto old ways of doing things. Be flexible and open to implementing new approaches.

30. KEEP THNGS FUN.

Remember that the world has bigger problems than the daily challenges that make up our work. Stuff happens. Keep perspective. Don’t take things personally or take yourself too seriously. Laugh every day.
